The wild edible plants workshop comes back to Biotopia and this time we focus on discovering wild fruits, seeds and roots that can be foraged in late summer, and autumn in Uppsala. This workshop will introduce you to the art and science of foraging and wildcrafting, the importance of harvesting during the right time of the year and ethics of harvesting wild plants. We will then go through the different plants, fruits, seeds and roots that can be found during this season before moving to the fun part – Tasting and making snacks from those plants!
The workshop is curated by Agnes, a plant ecologist and founder of Nordiska Örter. During the workshop Agnes will raise our awareness of local plants and of their usages as food and for home apothecary . She runs in person and online courses all year around, always with the aim to empower people using local herbs as food and wellness support, for enhancing their independency and self-sufficiency.
No prior experience or knowledge is required. This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in exploring the world of wild edible plants. All materials will be provided.
